Esther...

Have you ever read and studied the book of Esther? I recently read a bible study on Esther and then tonight I read the book of Esther in the bible again. I really like Esther. I like her because she was bold, brave, without hesitation, smart, wise, calm, patient and was willing to die for her people. Wouldn't you like to have all or just some of these traits? I want all of them. I can find so much right about Eshter to aspire to.

Esther was orphaned when both her parents died. Her uncle adopted her and raised her as his own. Esther was plucked from her common life and brought to the Kings court. Esther spent a whole 10 months preparing to be beautiful in front of the King. Somedays I feel too lazy to spend 10 minutes in front of the mirror for my husband. This is wrong thinking on my part.

Then after she was made Queen and had everything any woman in that time could want or need she still insisted on saving her people. She fasted and prayed and then proceded to persuade the King to revoke his order to kill ALL Jewish people. But in order to save her people she had to out herself first and then have the faith that the Lord would see her through this time. How many times have you or I sacrificed ourselves literally to save another? See...she's just great! Well you know the story...the King revoked the order and the Jewish people were spared. All because of Esther's bravery.

I pray that I will be brave like Esther.
